Find an IML

Verify the Carnet

All members will be issued with this card.

Full and Life Members with a current first aid certificate, public liability insurance and an in-date Continued Professional Development (CPD) record will also be issued with the UIMLA licence, the holographic sticker. For the carnet to be valid it must have an in-date holographic sticker attached.

Only full members of a UIMLA member association are allowed to use the title ‘UIMLA IML’ or ‘UIMLA International Mountain Leader’, the UIMLA logo and to display the UIMLA medal (badge).

This carnet, when displaying an in-date holographic sticker, is evidence that the holder is a full member of a UIMLA member association and gives an assurance that the holder is current with their first aid, public liability insurance and practice through their CPD.

Before engaging the services of an International Mountain Leader you should ask to see their carnet with an in-date holographic sticker to assure yourself that they are a ‘UIMLA IML’, properly licenced and current in the practice of that profession. No other carnet can give you that assurance.
